With Hurricane Harvey drawing closer and closer to landfall in Texas, a local hospital is sending a message to everyone in Central Texas.

According to Stephen Adams at KCEN, Baylor Scott & White's Blood Center in Temple is urging residents to donate blood in order to be prepared for potential injuries that may come from the storm.

As the hurricane grows closer to landfall, hospital officials said they may extend hours later into Friday and potentially Saturday depending on the status of the hurricane. The center normally closes at 4 p.m. on Fridays and is closed on Saturdays.

Anyone who's interested in donating blood may call the blood center in advance at 254-724-2430. You can click here to book an appointment as well.
