Intersection Temporarily Closed after Semi Hits Utility Pole in Temple
The intersection of Airport Rd and NW HK Dodgen Loop in Temple was temporarily closed Thursday morning after a truck crashed into a utility pole.
Temple Police and Fire and Rescue crews arrived at the scene shortly after 3:45 a.m. There, they discovered that a semi truck headed north on the Loop had attempted to turn left on Airport and hit a utility pole that supported traffic lights at the intersection. The truck stopped after the pole broke and traffic lights fell, blocking traffic in the Loop’s northbound lanes. No one was injured.
Police say drivers can expect delays in the area as crews work to repair the damage and replace traffic lights. Alternative traffic control devices will remain in place until repairs are completed.
