It’s Getting Hot And It’s Dangerous To Leave Your Hand Sanitizer In Your Car
A friendly reminder as the weather begins to heat up in El Paso and we're all still trying to keep COVID away. The weather will be heating up this week and we'll be seeing the temperatures potentially getting up to over 91 degrees for the first time in 2021. The weather reached a high of 90 the past two Sundays, per the Time and Date website.
Now we're getting closer to those sweltering 100 degree days but we're still in a pandemic, at least some people are. Others are already attending music festivals in other parts of Texas so it really just depends on who you surround yourself with.
If you're still trying to keep up with basic hygiene like handwashing and using hand sanitizers, we do have a simple reminder for you.
Hand sanitizer's main ingredient is alcohol which is highly flammable. Mix in leaving a bottle in your car in the intense El Paso heat and it's a recipe for a disaster. So if you keep hand sanitizer or disinfectant spray on you when you're out and about, remember to take it out of your car. Try keeping it in your purse or by your front door so you get in the habit of grabbing it before and after you arrive home.
You can see the video above of some of the fire safety lessons you need to know regarding hand sanitizer usage during the pandemic.
