If you're looking to play some casual softball with a group of friends or your co-workers, you definitely need to get signed up for Temple Parks & Recreation's Co-Ed for Fun Softball League.

The league's focus is all on fun, so your team can be as competitive or laid back as you like. The only requirement is that you have fun.

Well, there are some actual requirements. We're a civilization, after all.

Each team will need to consist of 10 to 20 players ages 16 and up, and you'll need to have 5 men and 5 women on the field. You'll need to submit a roster before the season begins as well.

Co-ed For Fun players don't have to wear matching or numbered jerseys, but you could make some for your time if you're into that.

You can see a complete list of rules and requirements here.

Registration is open now, and if you get signed up by September 6, it's only $229 per team. There's a late registration deadline of September 13, and you'd need to pay $255.

It'll be an 8-game season from September 20 to November 8, and play will be held Sundays at the AJ Mercer Complex, 4320 Lions Park Dr.

You can register by phone at (254) 298-5690, or in person by appointment Monday through Thursday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. You can get a registration form to download or print here.

Temple Parks & Rec is also taking registration for Co-Ed Kickball through August 30, with a late registration date of September 6. Get a registration form here, and see the complete rules here.

Check out the City of Temple's Athletics page for info about all their sports programs. Did you know they offer skeet shooting in the spring? I'm thinking about signing up for that one!
