Texans Can Fly Anywhere — Except This One State
(Mix 93-1) Spring Break and the summer travel season will be here soon. It's about time to start making your plans on how you'll get there. If your plans involve flying commercially anywhere in the US, you're in luck because you can fly to any U.S. state in a relatively short amount of time by plane, except one.
Texas Has Flights to Almost Every State
Yes, there is one state that Texans cannot book a direct commercial flight to. With 26 commercial airports in Texas with scheduled flights, you would think you could fly anywhere. However, there is one state that you cannot catch a direct flight to out of Texas.

The One State Missing From Texas Flight Maps
If you're thinking it's Alaska, you'd be incorrect. Alaska is the king of airports. The state has more airports per capita than any other state. There are airports, runways, and seaplane bases for nearly every city in Alaska, making it North America's largest aviation system.
Go ahead, keep guessing. Rhode Island? Vermont? New Hampshire? Nope! You can fly directly to any of those states. There is still one state that Texans cannot catch a direct commercial flight to.
How Texans Can Still Get To This State
If you guessed Delaware, you would be correct. Texans cannot catch a direct commercial flight to Delaware. If you want to visit the state, you'll have to fly into Philadelphia and then walk, take a car, or take the train!

Why the Lack of Flights Makes Sense
It's crazy to think that there's a state you can't catch a direct commercial flight to from any airport in Texas. But then again, it makes perfect sense because Delaware is so small. Texas has quite a few counties that are larger than the entire state of Delaware. It's approximately 2,489 square miles, and the largest county in Texas is around 6,192 square miles, Brewster County!
So if you're looking to visit Aunt Priscilla in Dover, Delaware, you'll be flying into the City of Brotherly Love to get there.
