Feral Hogs in Texas have been a problem for some time in the state.

As revealed by NBC DFW, the state is home to the most Feral Hogs in the nation. This isn't good for the agriculture of the state. A statement by the former state director of the Texas Wildlife Services Program, Mike Bodenchuk, revealed the major issues:

“They alter habitats, they foul the water sources. They predate on a lot of wildlife as well. Reptiles, ground-nesting birds, even fawns from deer can fall victim to feral hogs.”

While attempts are being made to curb the population of the animal, they are still in the state. Recently, they made their presence known in the state by causing a lot of damage to a Lone Star State park.

Per Chron, Veterans Park and Athletic Complex in College Station is feeling the after-effects of Feral Hogs. They report that the animals caused issues to five soccer fields at the facility, which totaled $150,000, which was the amount needed for repairs.

Also, a video of Feral was actually captured of a group of hogs near the park in question, about 13 miles away. The video however, does not confirm if these Feral Hogs were the ones who caused the damage:

Will this be the only part of the state that Feral Hogs cause issue in this year? Only time will tell.
