Texas Won’t Be Seeing This Item From Panera Bread Any More
One eatery located across the nation and in the state of Texas has made a decision regarding one item they offered that harmed certain individuals. Here's what is known at the time of writing.
Issues With A Caffeinated Drink From Panera Bread
The item that many have voiced their opinion on is none other than their Charged Lemonade. The issues regarding the drink have been documented in many states. Per People, individuals have suffered health issues due to the beverage.
On April 8th of 2023, as revealed from a ongoing lawsuit started in 2024, Lauren Skerritt alleged “permanent cardiac injuries” were cause after she consumed two and a half Charged Lemonades. This occurred in Rhode Island, but wasn't the only instance of the drink causing problems.
Another two incidents occurred of October of 2023. The parents of Sarah Katz took legal action against Panera, saying the drink was connected to the passing of their daughter.
in the other October incident, the family of Dennis Brown also brought legal action against the eatery. According to documents, Brown drank three cups of the Charged Lemonade, who later passed away. The family, in the lawsuit, stated the drink was "dangerous."
Subsequent Removal Of The Drink From Panera
According to People, the drink will no longer be on the menu. A statement to People was provided:
“We listened to more than 30,000 guests about what they wanted from Panera, and are focusing next on the broad array of beverages we know our guests desire – ranging from exciting, on-trend flavors, to low sugar and low-caffeine options."
