There are probably way more than 3 reasons not to impersonate ICE agents, or SWAT officers ... though, the SWAT fakes are a little more appealing ... but these will do for now.

Several people were recently arrested for impersonating ICE agents and detaining people around the USA. One of these idiots even tried forcing a woman to have sex with him in exchange for not deporting her.

When it comes to ICE agents, immigrants and illegal immigrants, these are crazy times and goofballs like these are just making the overall situation worse. Sadly, the number of incidents like these is rising.

With the (possible) exception of the would be alleged rapist, these incidents seem to be racially motivated. That alone brings up the first reason not to impersonate ICE agents; the fact that you could be wrong.

Not everyone of Hispanic, or any other foreign, origin is here illegally. Sure, there are a ton that are but there are also a lot who have gone, or are going, through the process to become citizens.

There are also a ton of peeps who were, GASP, actually born here to parents who were also, hold on tight now, American citizens themselves. Wow - mind blowing to some but, it happens.

Having a family tree with branches in many countries, I myself could be mistaken for a couple of things. A white guy if I haven't been in the sun long enough, a Hispanic based on my usual diner choices or Irish if you go by the amount of beer I drink.

The next reason is other ICE agents. You make the wrong move with a real one around and you could wind up getting shot. Not to mention, the person you're messing with could also panic and kill you. Trying to illegally detain or hurt an American citizen justifies the use of deadly force under various stand your ground laws.

Plus, citizen or not, if its a true criminal ... cartel member, gang member, whatever ... doesn't need justification; they're just going to take you out. Or beat you senseless. They're going to react in some fashion and it may not end well for you.

Finally, it's F'n wrong. Illegal aliens should not be here, by law, and ICE agents have a job to do. That's a complicated situation that has zillions of people on edge

Oh, one more thing - the penalty for impersonating an ICE agent could be a big fine, jail time or both. Other things like using the impersonation to coerce someone into giving money, property or performing sexual acts will add even more charges.
