The Kansas City Chiefs are WOKE!

The KC Chiefs announced that they will no longer allow fans to come to games at Arrowhead stadium wearing Native American headdresses, face paint, and clothing.

FOX News reports that The KC Chiefs executives are also,

“engaged in a thorough review process of the Arrowhead Chop.”

There are other teams that use a "chop" during games as well. The Atlanta Braves come to mind. They've previously stated that they are not looking to change the name of the team, but may address the "chop" that fans do during games too.

This is an effort to address things many say is offensive to Native Americans. The Chiefs said in a statement:

“In 2014, we began a dialogue with a group of local leaders form diverse American Indian backgrounds and experiences. As an organization, our goal was a better understanding of issues facing American Indian communities in our region and explore opportunities to raise awareness of American Indian cultures and celebrate the rich traditions of tribes with a historic connection to the Kansas City area."

So why stop at banning people from wearing head gear or face paint? Why not just change the name altogether and rename Arrowhead Stadium? Where's the line?

At the moment, the Chiefs have said that they are not looking at any changes to their logo, which has a "KC" inside an arrowhead, or renaming Arrowhead Stadium. The team has promised to continue discussions with Native American groups in the future.
