Many little girls dream of being a spokes model for CoverGirl, but for Alexis Harris, this is her reality.

Harris, a Shoemaker High School alumna, entered a nationwide model search. She wrote a letter to  Ellen DeGeneres telling her how much she has inspired her start her  own nonprofit, Students Making Impacts In Lives Everywhere or SMILE.

DeGeneres announced Harris was chosen out of more than 20,000 applicants to become the newest CoverGirl, because she was so intrigued with how much she cared for other people as such a young age.

Harris plans to use her new gig as a CoverGirl and the $20,000 she received to continue to reach out to thousands of people to make a positive impact in their lives.

She sound like a sweet young woman. Watch her video below.
