Killeen Man Accused of Stabbing Son to Death
A Killeen man has been charged with murder after allegedly stabbing his son during an argument Friday evening.
Danny Lee Daulton was booked into the Bell County Jail at 3:50 PM Sunday. He remained in custody as of Noon Monday in lieu of $150,000 bond. Jail records indicated that Daulton was charged with First Degree Murder.
Killeen police responded to a 911 call from a home in the Summerfield Mobile Home Park, 6100 E. Rancier, at 7:39 PM Friday. When they arrived, they found Daulton's 23-year-old son, Daniel Scott Daulton, suffering from a stab wound. He was transported to Seton Medical Center in Harker Heights, where he was pronounced dead at 8:20 PM.
In a media release, Killeen police said Justice of the Peace Claudia Brown ordered an autopsy be performed at the Southwest Institution of Forensic Sciences in Dallas.
According to the release, witnesses said an argument between the two men turned physical, and that at some point the elder Daulton stabbed the younger. The Bell County District Attorney's Office issued a murder complaint after reviewing evidence.
