"Are we better off this year than we were last year?"

That's usually what an elected official rhetorically asks when they address the public.

After all, that's one of the duties of the office - to give a yearly update on the past year's progress.

Mayor Jose Segarra will address the people of Killeen with his yearly State of The City address Thursday, February 13th at Killeen City Hall.

According to a City of Killeen press release, Mayor Segarra is expected to talk about current City business, as well as what's ahead for Killeen over the coming year.

The public is encouraged to attend. However, if you cannot, the address will be streamed live at killeentexas.gov. It will also air live on Spectrum Channel 10, and will be recorded for you to play back later. (That's good news for any local students assigned to report on the address.)

However you watch it, just be sure to tune and hear what Killeen's leadership has to say about the state of the city. If there's something you feel should be addressed that isn't, make plans to attend a City Council meeting and speak your mind. It's your city. Make sure you have a voice.
