Make a Difference Day is Saturday, October 22, and Killeen Volunteers Inc. is accepting project proposals from now until Friday, October 14.

According to a City of Killeen news release issued Monday, past projects have included neighborhood clean-ups, building improvements for non-profit facilities, and food and clothing drives.

Project adoption begins Thursday, September 1, and the city will hold a Make a Difference Day Kick Off event at the Killeen Community Center, 2201 E. Veterans Memorial Blvd, on Thursday, September 8 beginning at 6 PM. The public is  invited to learn more about the largest national day of service and how to become involved with a project as a proposer, sponsor, or volunteer.
