What’s Really Good In Central Texas: Make A Difference Day In Killeen
We've seen what Central Texans are capable of doing when we come together to help those in need, now let's take the same energy and help OUR COMMUNITY!
"Make a Difference Day", the national day of doing good, will be Saturday, October 28. Thousands of local volunteers will join millions across the country to make an impact in their communities. According to The City Of Killeen, Killeen had more than 3,000 volunteers last year take part in 68 projects including collecting necessities for Families in Crisis, collecting food for the Food Care Center, yard maintenance for the elderly and a food drive for Mission Soup Kitchen.
If you want to be a part of this years "Make A Difference Day", Killeen Volunteers will host a Make a Difference Day community meeting Thursday (Sept. 6th) at 6 p.m. at Killeen Community Center-Room 200, 2201 E. Veterans Memorial Boulevard.
If you have a project that you would like to propose or adopt, you can make those online through October 24 at www.killeentexas.gov/volunteer.
