Should a married couple be frank and earnest? Or should one of them be a girl? The old punch line from the 60’s has lost its meaning in today’s “anything goes” society. We are seriously – at the level of the Supreme Court – trying to decide WHAT a married couple is. The reason that old joke used to get laughs is that it was stupid in olden times to think of marriage as anything but between a man and a woman. But now, nothing is safe from progressivism. If we redefine the word “marriage,” what about other words? We’ve been using “partner” in place of “gay lover.” But after marriage, what? The words “wife” and “husband” are moving into popular use. So Jane marries Sue – Jane is
Sue’s wife and Sue is Jane’s wife? Wait. That makes no sense. Marriage is AT LEAST between a wife and a husband – right? But a wife should be a girl and a husband a guy –or should they just be frank and earnest?
