Man Jumps From Bridge To Evade Arrest

A man is in a Waco hospital after risking it all to evade arrest.

As reported by Gordon Collier and our news partner, KWTX, a man jumped off the Highway 7 bridge at Big Creek between Marlin and Kosse Monday afternoon.

Witnesses on the scene said the man was attempting to shake a Falls County reserve deputy, and took a leap of faith off of the bridge. Police say the man had a long list of warrants out for his arrest.

Marlin's Fire Department brought its ladder to the scene to retrieve the man. There are no reports on how badly the man was hurt, and the Falls County Sheriff's office has been unresponsive to inquiries. The man, who has yet to be identified, was taken to Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Medical Center in Waco for treatment.
