If you are looking to get out to the ballpark and watch a baseball game this summer, you don't have to wear a mask to do it.

Not in Round Rock, at least.

Dell Diamond in Round Rock no longer requires face coverings as a result of an updated health and safety policy from Major League Baseball on May 13.

Due to the lifting of statewide mask mandates in March, Dell Diamond Sports Center, which hosts Round Rock Express games, has lifted the requirement in its facility.

Opening day was held May 6 against the Oklahoma City Dodgers. The team plays at Dell Diamond on May 13 against the Sugar Land Skeeters - the first game without the mask requirement.

I have been to the Dell Diamond in Round Rock countless times with a radio company there.

I even threw out the first pitch, which was an epic fail. But hey, it was a great experience!

I have been to a few concerts there too, mostly notably Snoop Dogg and Company.

We will see if any other venues follow the Dell Diamond example and lift their mask mandates soon.

To all my baseball enthusiast: you don't have to wear a mask inside the ballpark, but consider wearing one as a courtesy around workers at the ballpark or if you're sitting near a large group of people you don't know.

Just for safety reasons, I would most likely wear one when I'm not partaking in the normal ballpark food and beverages.

By the way, if you can make it next Monday they are having $1 hot dogs and sodas.

Here is the Round Rock Express schedule.

Whether you wear a mask or not, it feels good to be out watching some type of entertainment as we get back to something resembling normalcy after a turbulent year.
