Mexia High School on Early Dismissal, One Person in Custody
One person has been taken into custody following an "incident" at Mexia High School.
Our news partners at KWTX report that only one person was taken into custody following an unspecified incident, and according to the school district there is “no threat to Mexia ISD campuses” at this time.
Mexia ISD on Lockdown
Mexia ISD placed all campuses on lockdown earlier today (Monday) following the incident and announced early dismissal for all campuses.
Mexia ISD said all busses and routes will run as normal.

Groesbeck ISD Lockdown
The incident and campus lockdown prompted Groesbeck ISD to also lock down their campuses.
KCEN reported that Dr. James Cowley, Superintendent of Groesbeck ISD, took to Twitter to say that their schools had been locked down due to gunshots on a Mexia campus,
There were no reported threats to Groesbeck ISD.
There are plenty of questions concerning today's events after a weekend that saw extreme gun violence in Buffalo, where a gunman killed 10 and wounded 13 more at a grocery store. One person was killed and four other wounded in a church shooting in Laguna Woods, California, and two people were killed and three wounded in a shooting at a flea market in Houston.
