Monkey Sculpture Stolen from Temple Woman’s Home
Hands off our monkey!
KWTX is reporting the story of a stolen statue. It was lifted from a home that has kind of become an unofficial landmark in town. Janetta's home in Temple has often featured various statues for about the last six years. This time she was showing the statue of a monkey drinking a bottle of soda.
Now the monkey is missing.
The crooks had their work cut out for them, as the statue had been cemented into the ground. It needed to be dug up in order for someone to steal it.
Janetta's home features statues of zebras, peacocks, rhinos, and lots more! Back in May, someone stole statues of two sumo wrestlers out of Janetta's lawn. What gives?
It's very sad to see someone put the time and effort into making her lawn something the neighborhood can enjoy only to keep having these kinds of issues. Let's keep our eyes out and help Temple PD catch the person(s) responsible. If you have any information that may help police solve this crime, please contact them at (254) 298-5500.
