Movie Being Filmed in Central Texas Needs Extras

A new mini-series being filmed around Killeen and Fort Hood needs extras! If you've ever wanted to be in a TV show, here's your shot.

KCEN-TV reports that Brock/Allen Casting is looking for paid background extras to play everything from babies to grandmas to soldiers in a National Geographic mini-series based on The Long Road Home, a novel by Martha Raddatz.

According to KCEN, the movie is set in Iraq and centers around the eight-hour battle to rescue a First Cavalry Division platoon who were ambushed in Sadr City on April 4, 2004 - latter dubbed "Black Sunday".

People of all ages and ethnicity are welcome, and military experience is a plus. In fact, men 18-35 who can play American or Iraqi soldiers are in demand.

Filming runs from March to July. Regular pay is $64 for eight hours, plus overtime, but there are higher rates for specialty roles such as soldiers and military family.
