Notable Central Texas Car Dealership Founder Dies

KWTX reported that a very well known car dealership founder in Central Texas has passed away.

Ed Sykora, who was the founder of Sykora Family Ford has lost his life. Close friends of the family confirmed the death to KWTX late Tuesday night.

Sykora began working at what was Kozelski Motors at the time in 1961 as the parts manager. Kozelski Motors would become Sykora Family Ford in 1984.

Sykora Family Ford over the years has gained much popularity through it's family atmosphere, customer service, and memorable commercials.

Ed Sykora leaves behind his wife Dorothy, and ten children. The majority of their children have worked for the car dealership throughout the years they have had it in it's possession.

The Sykora family has called West, Texas its home since the 1870s, and are very proud of their Czech heritage.
