Pit Bull Kills Temple Toddler

A two year old Temple girl died Monday after she was attacked by a pit bull.   It happened in the 800 block of E. Avenue M.

Temple Police say the dog was in the back yard, when the little girl slipped into the yard.  Apparently no one knew little Je’vaeh Mayes was back there until after the dog attacked. The child was rushed to Scott and White where she later died.

Temple Animal Control Services picked up the dog, and it is currently being held in quarantine.
