Plane with Landing Gear Issues Circling in Central Texas
UPDATE: KWTX reports that the aircraft was able to land safely. The pilot had reported possible landing gear failure and was circling the TSTC runaway awaiting visual confirmation. A second plane was able to confirm that the first craft's landing gear was successfully deployed, and the plane was able to make a landing.
Several first responders are gathered near a runway in Central Texas Thursday morning preparing for what may happen with an airplane having landing gear issues.
KWTX reports that these first responders are huddled at a runway near Texas State Technical College in Waco.
The first responders are gathered by the runway because the plane in the air circling in the area, reportedly may be having landing gear issues in the air.
Waco Fire Department said in a tweet, "The plane had two people on board and was circling the area." Another plane was attempting to confirm if the plane was actually having landing gear issues or not.
The second plane helped to make sure that the landing gear was deployed fully, and the plane would land safely at the runway at Texas State Technical College airport around 9:30 a.m. on Thursday morning.
