Police: Corpus Christi Woman Tried to Sell Her Kids

We're in the hottest time of the year, but this is just cold.

KIII-TV reports that 29-year-old Esmeralda Garza of Corpus Christi was arrested last week after allegedly selling her 7-year-old son, and DPS officials say she planned to sell two other children ages 2 and 3.

She's been charged with sale or purchase of a child, a third-degree felony. Officials say that if they determine the sale was in any way related to sex trafficking, she could face more charges.

Another woman and a man were also taken into custody as the result of a drug investigation related to the sale. (DPS officials found and rescued the 7-year-old while executing a warrant at their residence, the Laredo Morning Times reports.)

The sale, folks. Of a kid. It's disgusting that we even have to talk about this.
