Killeen Police Investigating Attempted Car Theft at Valero
This should be a wake up call to anyone with a habit of leaving their car running and unlocked when the go into convenience stores.
KWTX's Kathleen Serie reports that two men tried to steal a car left running at the Valero at 1000 West Stan Schlueter Loop in Killeen shortly after Midnight.
When the victim exited the store, he reached into the car to try stopping the two men. The suspect in the driver's seat hit the gas and crashed through a fence before he and the other suspect fled on foot.
The victim received minor injuries. Police have not released detailed descriptions of the suspects.
It may seem convenient to leave your car running if you're only going into the store for a moment, but even if it's in your line of sight, thieves can quickly hop in and take off. It's not worth losing your car.
