Police Investigating Early Morning Shooting In Temple

Temple police are investigating a shooting that occurred early Wednesday in the 900 block of S. 22nd Street.

Officers responded to the scene around 12:19 am. When they arrived, they found a resident rendering aid to a 24-year-old man with a single gunshot wound to the upper body. The victim was transported to Scott & White Memorial Hospital in serious condition.

A preliminary investigation indicates the shooting took place outside the residence and that the victim may have known the shooter. The suspect, described as a black male wearing a light-colored hooded sweatshirt, fled on foot.
