KWTX and the Associated Press report a suspect in the Austin Bombings has died early this morning.

Austin Police Chief Brian Manley says the suspect was inside a vehicle in the Round Rock area when that person set off an explosive device just as SWAT officers closed in. Manley says one of his officers was shooting at the vehicle when the explosive was set off.

Chief Manley says the suspect was a 24-year-old white male. His identity will be withheld until police notify next of kin.

Austin police are asking the public to remain observant as it is possible that additional packages from the bomber may still be circulating around the city.
