Rosa’s Cafe Will Open Across From Temple’s Hilton Garden Inn
The sign is up and it's official! Work is underway on Rosa's Cafe and Tortilla Factory at 1702 Scott Blvd in Temple across from Scott and White and the Hilton Garden Inn.
Despite having lived in Central Texas my entire life, I've never been to Rosa's, but I've heard good things. The place seems to have legendary status, and both the Killeen and Waco locations have a respectable 3.5/5 star ranking on Yelp.
Rosa's is another welcome addition to South 31st Street, which has seen a boom in new restaurants over the past couple of years. Raising Cane's, Freebirds World Burrito, and Panera Bread are already thriving there, and business can only get better once work is complete on the Villas on the Hill apartment complex directly behind Shoppes on the Hill. (By the way, their office is open if you're looking to move in.)
Things are sure to get interesting when chicken finger chain Zaxby's opens in the same area to compete directly with Raising Cane's. (Let the chicken war begin!) There's also a new Papa John's Pizza location under construction next door to Edible Arrangements.
So while the people of Temple maybe be sick and tired of seeing orange construction cones, it's nice to know that we'll soon be seeing signs for new restaurants where we can find comfort food.
