Shark Disguised as Baby Stolen from San Antonio Aquarium
KSAT shared the video above that captured the theft of a baby horn shark from the San Antonio Aquarium on Saturday afternoon.
In the photo below you can see one of the suspects reaching into the shark pool and holding the baby horn in his hands.
Below that is a photo of the suspect pushing the baby shark out of the aquarium disguised as a baby in a stroller.
A group of three individuals is wanted for the theft. According to police they lifted the shark out of the water and wrapped it in a towel and placed it in a bucket of water. They then placed the bucket in the stroller and covered it with blankets.
Authorities thought the 9-1-1 call was a hoax but the Aquarium staff eventually caught up with the thieves in the parking lot. They refused to allow the Aquarium staff to search their vehicle and insisted they had to leave. Since Saturday the police have one of the suspects in custody and have impounded the suspected getaway vehicle.
Anyone with information about the theft is asked to contact Sgt. Eddie Gonzales with the Leon Valley Police Department at 210-812-3347.
