Another soldier from Texas who was serving in the Faryab Province has been killed in Afghanistan. He was serving as part of Operation Freedom's Sentinel. 

Sgt. Maj. James Sartor of Teague, Texas, was a 20-year veteran of the military on his second tour of duty in Afghanistan.

Sartor was killed after injuries from enemy small arms fire that broke out during combat patrols. He was a part of the 2nd Battalion, 10th Special Forces (Airborne) from Fort Carson, Colorado. KKTV News 11 reports Sartor was a 20-year veteran who joined the military in June of 2001.

He served his country time and time again over the course of seven career deployments since the age of 23. He was selected to serve as part of Special Forces and was part of four deployments to Iraq as a Green Beret.

This was his second trip to Afghanistan. Col. Brian Rauen, the commander of the 10th SFG (A) released a statement saying, "Ryan was a beloved warrior who epitomized the quiet professionals. He led his soldiers from the front, and his presence will be terribly missed."
