During last night’s State of the Union address, President Barack Obama vowed to act unilaterally where possible if lawmakers refuse to cooperate with his agenda. The Republican response – delivered by Rep. Cathy McMorris Rogers – came swiftly and mainly addressed the President’s claims about income inequality.

You can view her address below, but we can sum it up in one key sentence: “Tonight, the President made more promises that sound good, but won’t actually solve the problems facing Americans.”

Politico, meanwhile, has closely examined several key parts of Obama’s speech and published a handy fact check. It provides a respectful but skeptical breakdown of the President’s claims concerning healthcare (particularly enrollment in Obamacare), investments in American growth, a hike in minimum wage for federal employees and the diplomatic approach to ending Iran’s nuclear enrichment program.

You can find the fact check here.
