The vote is unanimous. Temple ISD has seen a boost in student enrollment and now it is time to purchase new land for a new school. A new proposal shows a large population increase in the Southeast area of Temple so land in that part of the city is now being evaluated.

KXXV is reporting Temple ISD is expecting another 950 additional students over the next few years. Temple ISD Superintendent Dr. Bobby Ott said, "Over the next 10 years there are either, a total of 3000 active or future developments. The price is very reasonable. We’re ahead of development. We had a demographic study that was done that actually showed us ideal locations."

Adrian Cannady, President of the Temple Economic Development Corporation said, “As we look to bring in new jobs, new families into the community, state of the art facilities in Temple ISD is very important to our prosperity moving forward."

While it is still very early in the project, the district is going to try and build an elementary campus over the next three years, one more in the next six years, and a middle school within the next seven to eight. It's exciting news for the city and the school district as it has been about 20 years since Temple ISD actually broke ground on a new school.
