Temple police catch wanted fugitive

A wanted fugitive was caught by Temple police on Monday night after he failed to comply with registration requirements as a sex offender.

Darryl Kato Morrison is required to register annually for the rest of his life as a result of a conviction for indecency with a child by contact in 1987. Morrison attempted to flee from an officer in the 1000 block of N. 3rd St. around 7:00 pm and was taken into custody.

Morrison was also convicted in 2006 for failure to comply with registration requirements and received a two year sentence in a state jail facility.
