This is one of the reasons why some people want police defunded: not to fire police officers, but to use some of that money for proper police training and transparency with investigations.

Saturday night, 31-year-old Jonathan Price intervened in a fight between a man and a woman at a gas station in Wolfe City, Texas, 70 miles northeast of Dallas

WFAA reports police arrived after the fight ended.

Price tried to walk away after an attempt by 22-year-old Officer Sean Lucas to detain him. Texas Rangers say Price resisted in a "non-threatening posture" and walked away.

Lucas then used his taser on Price. When Price's body convulsed from the electrical current, Lucas shot him to death.

According to Texas rangers, the police officer, 22-year-old Sean Lucas, did not take reasonable action in the encounter, and was arrested and charged with murder Monday night.

There is a video of the incident.

While I didn’t want to use race as the theme for this post, although I have it in the title, I want to pout out that here is another example of an unarmed black man who was killed by a white police officer who failed to follow the correct protocol.

And now there's another innocent black man to add to the list of innocent people killed by the police.

This is America.

The killing is still under investigation by the Texas Rangers.
