Texas Teenager Who Killed Friend Playing With Gun Charged With Manslaughter
Another young Texas teenager has died due to his peers playing with guns.
What Happened?
Authorities are investigating the source of a gun two teenagers were playing with.
On February 8th, a 15-year-old North Texas teenager died after playing with a gun with his friend.
According to KSAT, the unidentified 15-year old (his identity is kept anonymous because the victim is a minor) was seriously injured while he and his friend were playing with the firearm and it fired accidentally.
The injured child was taken to a hospital, where he died Monday. His friend, also 15, has been charged with manslaughter.
Another Tragic Texas Shooting Involving Minors
Just last month, a Texas homeowner was away on a trip when the next-door neighbor found 3 teenagers dead in his Harris County home. According to reports, the victims were all under 18 years of age. They were identified as 15-year-old Hayden Burns, 17-year-old Hayley Burns, and her friend 17-year-old friend, Kadience Cadena.
Investigators believe Hayden Burns shot his older sister and her friend, then turned the gun on himself.
Gun Safety In Central Texas
Numerous cities, including Temple, provide free gun locks to prevent something like this from happening in your home. I am a firm believer in the right to bear arms, but parents have to do a better job at securing their weapons to prevent tragedies such as these.
