How many times have you heard the CDC say use hand sanitizers? The FDA is saying be careful to choose safe hand sanitizers and more are being tested and found not to be safe.

After testing by the FDA on certain artnaturals scent free hand sanitizer products, the results say that there are unacceptable levels of benzene, acetaldehyde, and acetal contaminants in some.

This isn't the first time the FDA and CDC have warned us about not using certain hand Sanitizers but now the list of those that can be harmful is growing to include (as announced yesterday, 11/4/21) not using artnaturals hand sanitizer products.

Even though the exact risk from using hand sanitizers containing benzene, acetaldehyde, or acetal is unknown, the FDA is basically recommending not to take the chance with products that are on the do not use list, which now includes any with unacceptable levels of benzene, acetaldehyde, or acetal.

.The FDA is a big supporter of everyone washing their hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after coughing, sneezing, or blowing one’s nose. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommend that if you are going to use hand sanitizers, be safe and use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60 percent ethanol (also referred to as ethyl alcohol).
