The New Mavericks

We may have just witnessed a passing of the torch in the US Senate. Two “maverick” senators, Rand Paul and Ted Cruz, took on the bullies in the Obama administration over the constitutionality of drones on American soil. It was hard to get a straight answer out of Attorney General Holder – but they finally did. Then came the establishment
twins – John McCain and Lindsey Graham, calling the entire episode “ridiculous.” Graham went to far as to describe how much he “trusts” this president. If this isn’t jumping the shark, what is? Conservatives are tired of the opaqueness in the Obama White House – and we’re clamoring for leaders who will take them on. Paul and Cruz
are unafraid. McCain and Graham seem strong on the Benghazi issue – so why buckle now? Because the old-line establishment can’t stand to see new senators making all the headlines. You might call Paul and Cruz “the new mavericks.”
