The New Year Begins on a Wet Note in Central Texas
Moist. That's the word for the New Year as Mother Nature dumps chilly tears on Central Texas.
Temperature is the most important thing as the new year begins in Central Texas. It'll be the difference between a cold shower, or possible deadly freezing rain.
Heavy showers are expected along the I-35 corridor. Heavier rain expected East of I-35 has put a Flash Flood Watch into effect.
A Flood Warning was issued for Leon & Robertson County. Rivers effective are Navasota River near easterly.
A Wintery mix will be expected West of I-35.
A Winter Weather Advisory is effect for the San Angelo area until 6 a.m. Thursday morning. Freezing rain expected which could turn to snow with some accumulations likely.
If you have pets, be sure to give them some type of shelter if they can't come inside your home. When your pets do come back inside, also be sure to towel off they're paws as wet paws could cause them to get sick.
