Two men wanted in connection with a Friday home invasion in Cameron are in custody today.

Warrants for 30-year-old Alvin Dejuan Melton and 28-year-old Billy Joe Pittman Jr. were issued after the two allegedly entered a home in the 1600 Block of North Crockett shortly before 6 p.m. Friday night without the owner’s consent. According to the homeowner, the two men pushed her into the kitchen and prevented her from leaving or calling for help before taking two cell phones and money. They were accompanied by a woman – 30-year-old Nekeisha Kaderka of Rockdale – who later returned the phones to the home but not the money. According to Kaderka, the entire incident concerned a dispute about money.

Melton turned himself in Saturday night after viewing a news report, according to Cameron PD Chief Randy Dixon. Pittman was later arrested at a residence in Cameron without incident. The two are charged with aggravated robbery and unlawful restraint, and Pittman is also being charged with interference with an emergency call.
