I am proud to announce that Urban Power Connections of Killeen will be holding a Thanksgiving dinner and drive-on-the-block event this weekend.

If you’re not familiar with Urban Power Connections (UPC), they are an organization that strives to ensure that their fellow Central Texans take care of one another.

On Saturday, November 21, UPC will host the festivities at 1008 York Ave. in Killeen between 2 PM and 4 PM.

UPS is giving away hot, delicious Thanksgiving dinners. That'd be great enough, but aside from meals to the community, there will also be great music for the celebration from Dj Such a Lady, who is also known as the talented and radical Miss Ashley Smith. They're promising more entertainment and valuable experiences, so be sure to pull up.

You'll also have the opportunity to get registered to vote, which is absolutely essential for anyone eligible to cast a ballot given the times we're living in.

By the way, you can also bring donations for the community. If you want to bring something that could really be a blessing for a neighbor in need, they'll be accepting blankets, socks, canned goods, and non-perishable items.

This Turkey Day season, I want to give thanks to Urban Power Connections for taking great care of our beautiful city and the wonderful people who live here.

When Regiis Jones and Ashely Smith told me about this event, I knew right away that this is something that all of Central Texas needed to know about. The dedication and hard work that they put into bettering our city does not go unnoticed.

Top 20 Restaurants Central Texans Wish Would Come to Temple

A while back, I asked the good people of Temple if they could picture a good restaurant to fill the lot on North General Bruce Drive where the soon to be torn down Long John Silver's stood.

This was before it was announced that a Dutch Bros. Coffee location would open there (which was one of the places I predicted as a contender in our article).

So now Dutch Bros. is open in that spot, but the responses to my survey were interesting because they paint a picture of just how diverse Temple's population is. People recommended some familiar restaurants with locations in the surrounding area, but also a few I'd never even heard of.

Here are the top 20 results of the survey. Let's see what the good people of Temple are craving!
