Waco Apartment Residents Displaced By Fire Thursday Night
KWTX's Chelsea Edwards reported that some Waco residents had to find somewhere else to lay their heads Thursday night. Flames broke out in a Waco apartment complex, and displaced many of their residents for the night.
The firefighters of Waco responded to the fire that took place at the Terrace Garden Apartments located at 617 Jefferson Avenue in Waco. Residents evacuated from their apartments when the fire alarm blared around 8:30 p.m..
The fire began towards the downstairs unit of the complex, and it was gutted out according to the firefighters. When Waco firefighters got to the scene, they said lots of flames and heavy smoke filled the interior of the complex.
In traditional firefighter style, the Waco firefighters rescued a dog and three cats before extinguishing the flames around 10:00 p.m.. Ten residents that resided in the two-story complex of Terrace Garden Apartments, had to stay elsewhere due to smoke damage and heavy smoke fumes. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
