According to Paul J. Gately and our news partner KWTX, a man was shot around 1 a.m. Wednesday morning along LaSalle Avenue in Waco.

Police responded to the 1200 block of LaSalle after receiving a call about a shooting victim. Waco Police Sargent W. Partick Swanton, said that his investigators determined the 36-year-old victim was walking and saw a group of 18-20 year old men and women involved in an altercation.

Swanton said a man left in a blue van, returned a short time later with a firearm, then began shooting at the victim from the vehicle. The victim says he didn't know any of the people involved in the altercation.

The victim was taken to Providence Health Center for a wound to his right shoulder. No arrests were made, and Waco police are urging anyone who may have information about this case to call 254-750-7500.
