Following in the footsteps of Dick's Sporting Goods, Wal-Mart announced that it will also raise its minimum age to purchase firearms and ammunition to 21.

In a press release, the company stated:

In light of recent events, we’ve taken an opportunity to review our policy on firearm sales. Going forward, we are raising the age restriction for purchase of firearms and ammunition to 21 years of age. - Statement From Wal-Mart

The company also announced that they would be removing items resembling assault rifles including non lethal airsoft guns and toys. In 2015, Walmart ended sales of modern sporting rifles, including the AR-15 as well as handguns, except in Alaska.
