Ok check this out. I am a black man (if you haven't noticed already).

Say for instance I am a police officer and I walk into a white woman's apartment at night while she is watching TV and eating ice cream in her pajamas.

I shoot her, kill her, then lie about giving her first aid.

Honestly, how many years do you think I will get in jail?

In the state of Texas?

I think the sentencing in the Amber Guyger case was unfair. Totally unfair!

I wanted to see her get at least 15 years in jail. I say that because, in fact, if the tables were turned, I would be in jail at least 15 years to 20 or more.

And you know it.

Guyger was facing between 5 and 99 years in prison for killing Botham Jean in September of 2018 and was sentenced to 10 years in prison earlier today.

This is just another example of how this society has a double standard.

While I can use the race card (and damn it it's right here in my pocket), I'm not.

Furthermore, although there is record of racists memes and text messages sent by Ms. Guyger, I still won't!

I am using this forum to show that police officers get leniency for crimes they commit, even murder, and it's not fair at all.

What do you think? Was her sentence reasonable? Why or why not? Vote below, then let me know your thoughts in the comments.
