Watch Out! Killeen, Texas Drivers Beware The Cops Will Be Out This Weekend
It’s the most wonderful time of the year, holiday time!
With holiday time, comes holiday travel and if you are not careful, they'll get you!
If you are planning on driving you may want to take note that the Texas Department of Public Safety wants you to know they are not going on Thanksgiving break.
In fact, according to a press release put out by them, this morning highway patrol troopers will increase enforcement Wednesday 11-24 through Sunday 11-28 according to a press release.
Please pay special attention to what you’re doing on the roads, they are especially looking for people not wearing seatbelts and driving while intoxicated.
If you are a known speeder and fail to slow down, move over and violate any other traffic violations you’re on their list as well.
I assume they’re looking to top last year‘s totals as a total of 36,902 warnings and citations were issued in the state of Texas, over 5200 tickets were given for speeding, over 700 tickets were issued for driving without insurance, and over 200 people were charged with DWI's.
They encourage you to use common sense this holiday weekend.
That means don’t drink while driving, wear your seatbelts, move over and slow down for police fire EMS, and TxDot vehicles and tow trucks.
They also encourage you to eliminate distractions meaning don’t text while driving, keep your eyes on the road, and don’t drive tired or fatigued.
Use common sense this holiday weekend!
Do not drink while driving, after all, you may spill your drink!
