Welcome to the Month of June, Here are Some Things to Look Forward To

It's finally June and we're full speed ahead into summer!

I know summer doesn't officially start 'til June 20th, but once we get past Memorial Day, my mind just snaps into summer mode. (I wish my bathing suit body would do the same.)

Nevertheless, welcome to June, the sixth month on the calendar. We are half way through 2021 already and as of today, only 100 days away from the start of the NFL season! Go Broncos, er, I mean Cowboys!

Let's look at some things coming up in the month of June, and we'll start with sports.

The NBA and NHL playoffs continue this month, as second round action is already starting in the NHL. Golf fans will certainly be looking forward to the 121st U.S. Open, which starts on June 17th at Torrey Pines. The Tour de France kicks off on June 26th.  And the first Wimbledon in two years starts June 28th.

June also is the return for some TV shows you might like with "America's Got Talent" returning tonight June 1st and "The Bachelorette" coming back on June 7th. The new "Loki" series hits Disney+ on June 9th, and ABC's new "Celebrity Dating Game" premieres June 14th. I'm looking forward to "Holey Moley" returning for season three on June 17th.

I have yet to decide on whether returning to a movie theatre is worth it yet, but perhaps you are looking forward to it some some new movies and the experience of a theatre. If so, "The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard" hits theaters June 16th with "Luca," The new Pixar movie landing June 18th. Kevin Hart's back with his new movie "Fatherhood" on Netflix June 18th and the NINTH Fast-and-Furious movie "F9: The Fast Saga" comes out June 25th.

Let's not forget the holidays. Some big ones too. Father's Day and the first OFFICIAL first day of summer are on June 20th this year.  And Juneteenth is on June 19th. Make sure to enter dad for our "King of the Grill" 2021 with all kinds of great prizes like a brand new grill, golf passes, and a whole lot more.

Let's not forget all these other holidays that deserve a mention too, like:

National Cheese Day and National Donut Day are both this Friday. National Best Friends Day is June 8th, June 14th is Flag Day AND National Bourbon Day, National Fudge Day is the 16th, National Martini Day is June 19th, National Selfie Day is on the 21st and Take Your Dog to Work Day is Friday, June 25th.
