Whataburger Takes Homecoming Mums to A New Level
It's fall and that means it is officially football season. If you've grown up in Texas then you know that homecoming week is a huge deal.
Every year homecoming mums seem to get bigger and bigger, and this year is definitely no different. Well actually, it is just a little different. The food chain Whataburger decided to enter into the challenge for biggest mum, and let's just say they did not disappoint.
Now on display at the Arlington Museum of Art is the "Whatamum." The mum is 18 ft tall and 6 ft wide, it also has over 300 ft of ribbon, 1,250 flower heads, 50 drink cups, 100 fry containers, and 80 bracelets and keychains.
The exhibit is titled MUMENTOUS: The Upsizing of a Texas Tradition by Amy J. Schultz. This is the first exhibit for the new artist-in-residency program at the Arlington Museum of Art.
You can see the massive mum October 4-19. Tickets are only $10 for adults and $5 for children, seniors, and students. If you're interested in creating your own Whataburger mum you can DIY following these steps.
How big was your mum? Did your date make your mum or did someone else? What is another homecoming tradition that you love to participate in?
