A federal jury ruled on Tuesday  that Killeen Officer Givon Emeana used excessive force in a public intoxication arrest in March 2011, but was not attempting to violate the constitutional rights of Brian Tobias Stanley in the incident.

Stanley filed a civil case seeking $75,000 for injuries, but was not awarded anything.

Jurors were shown a video of Stanley in the back of a patrol car. When his right foot was wedged under a board, Emeana alledgedly yanked his left leg, injuring Stanley's legs, tearing his MCL, and spraining his ACL.

The jury said Emeana used excessive force, but had an "objectionably reasonable" belief that he was not violating Stanley's rights.
