Killeen police evacuated a neighborhood Thursday morning after a suspicious device was found attached to a truck.

Residents living between Austin and Dean and between 4th and 8th Streets were evacuated shortly after 9:30 a.m. after a work crew discovered a pipe-like device with wires attached taped to the bottom of a truck. Police set up a perimeter between 8th and 2nd stretching from Anderson to Dean and established a command post at 4th and Texas Avenue.

According to a report from KWTX-TV, a homeowner spotted the device on a friend’s truck and sent the friend a cell phone photo. The friend then called police.

A Fort Hood bomb squad is reportedly on the scene.
