A Marine Killed Two Other Marines Thursday Night Before Turning The Gun On Himself At Quantico Officer Candidate School
An active duty Marine killed two other Marines before turning the gun on himself Thursday night.
The shooting occurred at Marine Corps Base Quantico in Virginia. Col. David Maxwell, the base commander, tells the press that local and military police responded to a report of a gunshot at a barracks around 10:30 PM Thursday night. When they arrived, they found a man dead in the barracks. They later found a second victim dead, along with the body of the shooter.
Maxwell said the gunman died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He also denied early reports that a standoff had taken place at the barracks.
Marine Corps Base Quantico is located 37 miles south of Washington D.C. and also serves as the FBI’s training academy.
